Kay Flynn

Kay has dedicated a lifetime to studying dancing and teaching professionally. She trained with the Queensland Ballet School, and gained overseas experience in the United States, and Covent Gardens Theatre, London. She has also been involved in many musical theatre productions such as Oklahoma, Music Man, Showboat, Oliver. Ms Flynn and her own dance studio (Kay Flynn Ballet and Dancing Academy) have been fully registered with the Royal Academy of Dance for over 30 years, offering tuition in all styles of dance and performance preparation. Ms Flynn’s professional affiliations include Registered Teacher, RAD, Finalist Gold Coast Honours Award, Gold Coast City Council Cultural Development Committee, Queensland Ballet Junior Extensions Programme and Australian Ballet Junior Extension Programme. Ms Flynn is qualified to teach Classical Ballet - RAD, London, Tap Federal Australian Teachers of Dance and Jazz (Modern) Federal Australian Teachers of Dance, Contemporary, National Character, Pas De Deux, and Pointe Work. Every year since inception, at least one student from her dance school has been selected to attend the Australian Ballet or Queensland Ballet Junior Extension Training Programmers where sometimes only a total of 15 girls or 5 boys are selected from all Queensland schools.
