Jason Duff

Jason was a Graduate of the Australian Ballet School and during his final year, was the first Australian recipient to receive the Jacobs Pillow Dance Festival Scholarship, offered by Kitty Dukakis and Melbourne City Council. This lead him to perform at the prestigious Bolshoi Theatre and was offered a place in the graduating year of the Bolshoi Ballet School. Though he returned home for a place in the Australian Ballet and performed numerous principal roles nationally and internationally during his time there, as well as West Australian Ballet. Jason then ditched the canvas ballet shoes for a career in Musical Theatre and toured nationally with the award winning production of “Hello Dolly” and continued a commercial career from there. He moved to Paris to join the “Lido de Paris”, then returned home to a freelance career with agent in toe to perform with home grown stars such as: Kylie Minogue, Jimmy Barnes and toured nationally with Christine Anu and Rhonda Burchmore. He then opted for a career on the high seas working his way to Dance Captain and Company Manager for Princess Cruises, Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines and Norwegian Cruise Lines under the world renowned productions of “Jean Ann Ryan Productions”. Another move back to Paris for his final contract before retiring at the Royal Palace in Kirrwiller, for “Oui J’adore”, where he was Dance Captain under the reign of Bor Productions. He then returned home to take on the huge role of resident choreographer of “Jersey Boys” for its successful Australian and NZ tour before making the move to Brisbane to take up teaching where he developed a keen eye for upcoming talent and nurturing future stars of today! Jason is happy to be back in Melbourne where the work ethic is fierce and talent forefront at numerous full time performing arts academies. Jason is keen to view the talent on show at Wollongong Eisteddfod.
